Helen Avadiar-Nimbalker: A Pillar of Strength in Chiang Mai

Championing Survivor Empowerment and Transformative Change in Human Rights and Trauma Therapy

CMBC is proud to present Helen Avadiar-Nimbalker as one of the featured speakers at the International Women’s Day Celebration at Weave Artisan Society. March 8 at 6:00 PM.

Helen Avadiar-Nimbalker, originally from Malaysia, has made Chiang Mai her home for the past six years. She is one of the featured speakers at this year’s International Women’s Day event by CMBC at Weave Artisan Society.

As a fervent advocate for human rights and a skilled trauma therapist, Helen leads the charge at The Whispering Willow in Northern Thailand as its Executive Director.

Her role involves empowering survivors and leading a team of dedicated women in combating human trafficking and exploitation across Asia. Helen's commitment is evident in her survivor-centric approach, emphasizing trauma-informed practices in advocacy, training, and speaking engagements.

She has developed effective training modules that are instrumental in integrating Trauma-informed Care, Design & Structures into various organizations and businesses.

Besides her advocacy efforts, Helen is a dynamic entrepreneur. She has established several Freedom Businesses — platforms for providing jobs, training, and fostering economic empowerment. These businesses are pivotal in creating a sustainable, healing-centered environment that promotes resilience and independence among those they serve.
