Meet Tai Shane, the Queen of Kha-Nom Social Club, a 24-hour dispensary and social club in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Tai’s mission is to reconnect the new generation and tourists visiting Thailand with the old Thai culture. Her club serves organic tobacco, and locally sourced liquor, and encourages the consumption of cannabis as a medicinal and recreational treat.

The name Kha-Nom, which means sweets in Thai, was inspired by Tai’s belief that cannabis is not only medicine but also a treat. She explains, “When I think about a treat, the first thing that comes to my mind is sweets. And that’s the beginning of Kha-Nom.”

Kha-Nom: Where Cannabis Meets Thai Culture

Tai’s goal is to reeducate people about the amazing benefits of cannabis and to show them that it can be used for medicinal purposes as well as entertainment.

At Kha-Nom, you can pick your own herb to put in your tea, and even mix it with CBD flowers and other herbs to roll a joint.

As a woman entrepreneur in Thailand, Tai faces unique challenges, but she’s not one to give up easily. She believes that being a woman in business is tough, but you have to use your strengths to improve your weaknesses.

“If you focus only on the bad things, then you’re really not cut out to be an entrepreneur,” she says.

Despite the challenges, Tai has created several successful businesses in Thailand, including Pink Box, ReD, Blacklight, and Kha-Nom. She believes that being a woman in business in Thailand is actually not as difficult as in America, as most small businesses are run by women.

Tai’s ultimate goal is to create a better world to live in, where multi-cultures are celebrated and embraced.

“I love it when you combine both worlds together. As I grew up in a mixed culture, I believe that’s where the world will be in the end – one big melting pot.”
