Lanna Rugby Club: Celebrating Five Years of Passion, Unity, and Legacy!

Sporting Excellence and Community Spirit In Chiang Mai

Five years ago, on a crisp October day in 2018, a group of enthusiastic rugby lovers took to the field for the very first practice of what would become the iconic Lanna Rugby Club.

A dream visualized and brought to life, the club has since carved its niche in the rugby community, becoming a symbol of camaraderie, skill, and pure love for the sport.

Fast forward to today, and the echoes of that passion reverberate louder than ever, as they gear up to celebrate Lanna Rugby Club's 5th Anniversary.

This year, however, the celebration holds a bittersweet note. While they commemorate half a decade of thrilling matches, unforgettable memories, and the unbreakable spirit of rugby, they also prepare to bid farewell to their club founder and driving force, Mr. Thomas Stubley. His vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping Lanna's journey, and his departure marks the end of an era.

But as the old saying goes, "The show must go on!" and what a show they have lined up! For those who relish the adrenaline of live rugby, mark your calendars for a thrilling face-off against CMU Gallant at the CMU field, scheduled for 4 o'clock on October 14th. The action on the field promises to be a fitting tribute to their legacy and a testament to the heights Lanna Rugby Club aspires to reach.

The celebration doesn't end there. As dusk falls, they'll migrate to the exquisite Moat House at 7:30 p.m., a place that has seen countless tales of the club's triumphs and tribulations. Here, an evening of laughter, nostalgia, and new memories awaits.

And for those who've been with Lanna Rugby through thick and thin, they've got a special treat. Dive into a piece of Lanna history as they offer their old kit for sale — a tangible memento of the golden days gone by.

And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, the night culminates with the first quarter-final of the Rugby World Cup at 10 o'clock, adding an international flair to the club’s local celebrations.
