Ganesh Chaturthi Festival of Chiang Mai
From September 19th to 28th, the Silver Temple Wat Sri Suphan in the Mueang Chiang Mai District will be hosting the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival of Chiang Mai.

This festival is a celebration of Lord Ganesha, the Hindu deity of wisdom, knowledge, and new beginnings.
The festival encompasses a diverse range of activities, from the reverential Puja to artistic expressions, spiritual music, and Lanna and multi-national style spiritual dances.
The festival kicks off with the open ceremony on September 19th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Attendees can witness the invitation of Lord Ganesha to be seated in the festival place in ancient wisdom style by Brahman.
From September 20th to 27th, there will be daily Ganesh Puja in ancient wisdom with frankincense, flowers, fire, ladoo, motaga, modak by Brahman, Brahmani, Savami, and/or Savamini from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the Puja, there will be music, singing, and dance in Lanna, Ancient, and multi-national styles from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM to heal the body, mind, soul, and respect to Lord Ganesha.
On September 28th, the festival will culminate in a parade of Ganesha statues starting from the Silver Temple of Wat Sri Suphan and passing through Chiang Mai Gate, Thapae Gate, Chiang Moi Road, Varorod Market, Flowers Market, Navarat Bridge, and stopping at SorSorSor Public Park at the front of the First Church of Chiang Mai (Charoenrat Road). The ceremony will be on a pier of the Ping River, where the statues will be melted into the water, symbolizing the return of Lord Ganesha to his abode.
In addition to the spiritual ceremonies and parades, numerous booths will be set up, offering products, services, and nourishing sustenance for the well-being of the body, mind, and soul, while also emphasizing environmental sustainability. Attendees are welcome to bring their own Ganesh statues to partake in the Puja ceremony.
