Sandar's Story of Empowerment Inspires

Daughters Rising and International Women's Day Celebration

CMBC is proud to present Sandar Win as one of the featured speakers at the International Women’s Day Celebration at Weave Artisan Society.
March 8 at 6:00 PM.

The Daughters Rising story goes beyond just one organization – it's a testament to the power of education, community, and the remarkable journey of Sandar Win, a young woman who embodies the spirit of both Daughters Rising and the upcoming event.

Sandar's story initially began in a refugee camp, where the challenges of her upbringing instilled in her a deep empathy for others, particularly vulnerable women and children. This passion led her to become an educator at the Sex and Gender-Based Violence Committee (SGBV) program, raising awareness and advocating for change.

It was through Daughters Rising, an organization dedicated to supporting young minority women like Sandar, that she received the crucial scholarship that paved the way for her university education. This scholarship, combined with her own unwavering determination, allowed Sandar to excel at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, and double minors in Development Studies and Gender Studies – all with Magna Cum Laude honors.

But Sandar's story doesn't end there. Today, she stands as a testament to the impact of Daughters Rising, having transitioned from being a scholarship recipient to becoming the organization's Director. Her journey is a story of hope for countless young women facing similar challenges, and her leadership is instrumental in empowering the next generation.

The International Women's Day celebration at Weave Artisan Society on March 8th, 2024, at 6:00 PM, is a chance to celebrate the achievements of women like Sandar and support organizations like Daughters Rising that are making a difference. The event features free drinks and donated food!
